  Whatever happened to these prophecys . Zech. 8:23 / Isa..60 :22 .Do they ever refer to it now ?

  "this is what jehovah of armies has said...."it will be in those days that ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold ,yes they will actually take hold of the skirt of a man who is a jew saying:"we will go with you people,for we have heard that god is with you people ".. this was a scripture that was presented to me, that i was fullfilling bible prophecy , when i first became interested in jw`s and of course all other studies,baptisms that were occuring at that time .and the clincher of course was,.

  isa.60:22 the little one himself will become a thousand and the small one a mighty nation.i myself jehovah,shall speed it up in it`s own time .. and i`m talking now about the early 1960`s.

  If I remember right the ten men taking hold of the hem of a "Jew" (remnant of spiritual Jews) are the "Great Crowd of other sheep". I don't think any number was meant literal or expanded on. Its been too long to speak dogmatically. That's what I mean, 144,000 literal, 10 men symbolic. You pick. Could be a tough thing to do.

  Are you a Christian Who Accepts Evolution?

  if you identify as a christian but you have accepted that the diversity of life - including humans - resulted from a process of biological evolution could you add your name please?.

  just to be clear i am referring to the fact that our physical lineage could literally be traced back all the way to non-human species.. if you like maybe you could comment on why you see not conflict between evolution and your christian faith.. there is a tendency to conflate evolution with atheism.

  it would be good to show that this is not the case..

  After being in the so-called "Truth" makes me despise all religions.

  after being a jw made me lose trust in religion, from the lies, hypocrisy and greed of this organization made me lose faith completely.

  what does one do after this mind f$%@, what is there to look forward to?

  do i make up my own agnostic theory in head and hope for the best?

  The fact that you have to ask, shows the old mindset of having some sage to give you the answer is still present. Yes, make up your own theory. My thinking is, if there is a God he's an ass for not making himself known directly rather than setting up all these charlatans to me or other sincere ones. I lost respect for Him, (if he's there, and I don't believe he is), as much as I have in men who say they represent him. But, please don't take my word for it. Get your own dogma! lol

  I was a pioneer elder. I tried to assist but they never showed up for service. I couldn't get any time in tracking down the slackers. I discontinued the program before headquarters got around to it. I was such a stellar example. Too funny. (I was the Service Overseer by the way.)

  My Introduction

  this is my first post and i'm feeling like i'm doing something bad big time!

  i know on my mind it isn't, but the feelings are less manageable.. well, since i'm still a jw it's better not to give too much info, but i'm from brazil.. i've grown-up in the religion and practicly all my family, my closest friends and my girlfriend are loyal jws.

  i used to be a regular pioneer but i still have a service privilege on my congregation.. i've had questions about the teachings of the wt since i was 10, but naturally i always pushed it away as it were "questioning the holy organization".. i started a friendship with some people in a course i took and we talked about a lot of subjects.

  RayFrankz, Thanks for posting. "I defended the JWs every time, but sometimes I had to be dishonest to them..." Once you accept that the one you were being dishonest with was yourself you will see things differently I'm sure. It took courage to post and in my experience, if you posted here and aren't interested in trolling, and I am convinced you are NOT a troll, you are on your way and I am happy for you. Any questions?   Went to a Different Kind of Convention This Year

  my old congregation's regional convention was the week before last, and for the first time in 20 years, i wasn't there.

  instead on the very same weekend, i went to a geeky fan convention called magic city con.

  i had loads of fun there, i cosplayed as a jedi and the doctor (which is my current profile pic).

  I am looking at back surgery any thoughts on should I or not?

  back in march i fell and injured my back at work.

  my back has been a problem for many years but certain exercise has able me to function normally through the years.

  now i walk bent over with a cane and cannot walk very far, stand, or sit in a straight back chair.

  Good advice all around. So many suffer from back pain. I have degenerative disc disease, not uncommon for people in their late 50's early 60's. I am not on meds but I suffer if I lift or over do it. All I have to offer is similar life experience. I would say at least 75 percent of the people I know regret back surgery. Do not be shy on asserting your rights to information from the Doctor and ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION FROM A DOCTOR WHO DOES NOT KNOW YOUR FIRST DOCTOR. All the best.

  False equivalency for sure as far as seriousness. Poor baby. Being born into a cult, whether of a doctrine (ie: Governing Body worship) or a dictator worshiping state, is tragic.
